How To Get Assessed
Assessment Process Admission Procedure
An initial assessment by a specialist can typically be undertaken in an hour.
Most patients will be reviewed as required by the specialist throughout the year.
There is a modest fee as the Centre is self-funding, mostly through sponsorships and donations.
This assessment process generally begins by referral to the ADD Assessment and Family Support Centre by one or more of the following:
- Parent or family member
- Doctor/GP General Practionor
- Public Health Nurse
- School (eg teacher, or via RTLB the Regional Teachers Learning & Behaviour service)
- Parent to parent
- Police
- CAFS (Children & Adolescents Families Services)
- GSE (Group Special Education)
- Psychologist
- Plunket
